Context
Started as a personal tool for me, my wife and our dog's behaviourist — then grew into a public product.
Constraint
It had to be faster than a spreadsheet or notes, and simple enough to fill in every day in a few seconds.
My move
Planned the product first, then designed and built it in Lovable — journal, calendar, analytics and the behaviourist flow.
Outcome
A free, live web app at psiennik.pl for owners and specialists, with no subscription and no dog limit.
/ 01 Problem
Psiennik.pl is a free dog behaviour journal. Owners log daily events with a simple colour rating, photos or video — and their behaviourist adds recommendations in the same place. Designed and built in Lovable.
- 01
Replacing messy spreadsheets and chat messages with one clear shared record.
- 02
Making daily logging take seconds, not minutes.
- 03
Giving the behaviourist their own space to comment without cluttering the owner's view.
- 04
Building it efficiently — planning first so the build didn't burn through credits.
/ 02 Responsibilities
- —Product idea, scope and planning
- —Information architecture: journal list, weekly calendar and analytics
- —UI and visual identity — warm, calm, editorial
- —Owner and behaviourist roles with invite codes
- —AI-assisted build and iteration in Lovable
/ 03 Approach & process
- 01
Wrote a plain-language brief: date, activities, description, a green / orange / red rating and a behaviourist comment.
- 02
Designed two core views — a list of events grouped by day, and a weekly calendar coloured by how each day went.
- 03
Added analysis above the calendar based on ratings and activity types to show progress over time.
- 04
Made the behaviourist comment a separate flow, added after an event is logged.
- 05
Grew it from a private tool into a public product with accounts, guides and photo / video attachments.
